What to Pack for Tours in Playa Flamingo

Your day bag for boats, ziplines and waterfalls

Packing for tours

What to bring on a day out

The suitcase part is easy here. This list is for the tours: what’s worth having with you on a boat day, a dive, a zipline or a long day inland at the waterfalls.

The short list

What goes in your day bag

  • Power bank

Maps, photos and roaming drain your phone fast. A small power bank keeps you going on travel days and long tours.

  • Quick-dry towel

For the ride back after a snorkel trip or a swim at the waterfalls. Dries fast and doesn’t hold sand.

  • Rash guard or sun shirt

Easier than reapplying sunscreen all day, especially on boats, snorkel trips and fishing.

  • Reef-safe sunscreen

The sun here is strong all year. Bring your own, since it’s pricier and harder to find locally.

  • Reusable water bottle

Lots of tour boats have filtered water, so you can refill instead of buying plastic. Inland tours get hot, so keep it full.

  • Closed-toe or water shoes

Flip-flops don’t work on ziplines or ATVs, and the trail to most waterfalls crosses rivers. Water shoes with a grippy sole cover both.

Pack lighter

Leave the bulky stuff

Snorkel gear, life jackets and helmets come with most tours, so leave your own at home. And many rentals in Flamingo already have beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers and towels.
