Catamaran and snorkel

A half day on the water

Catamaran and snorkel

The classic Gold Coast boat day

Cruise the coast, stop somewhere calm to snorkel, then sail back as the sun goes down. It’s relaxed, it works for all ages and you don’t need any experience.

Boats leave from Flamingo and Potrero, so if you’re staying in one of our homes, the dock is just a few minutes away.

What to expect

How the day usually goes

  • Cruise the coast

Boats head along the coastline past quiet beaches. Dolphins, turtles and rays are common, and in some months you might see humpback whales.

  • Snorkel stop

The boat anchors in a calm bay and you can jump in. Snorkel gear is usually on board, and anyone who’d rather stay dry can relax on deck.

  • Sunset sail

Afternoon trips time the ride back with the sunset. Morning trips trade that for calmer water.

  • Food and drinks

Most boats have snacks and drinks. Some add lunch or an open bar. We’ll tell you exactly what yours includes.

Good to know

Before you go

Every boat is a little different. These are the basics, and we’ll fill in the rest once we know your dates.

  • Best season

Trips run all year. December to April is dry and sunny. From May to November afternoons can bring rain, so a morning trip is often the better bet.

  • What’s included

Usually the sail, snorkel gear, snacks and drinks. Some boats include a meal or an open bar. We’ll confirm before you book.

  • What to bring

Swimsuit, towel, reef-safe sunscreen, a hat and a light layer for the ride back.

  • Getting there

Boats leave from around Playa Flamingo and Potrero. That’s a few minutes from Brasilito and Conchal, and about 40 minutes from Tamarindo.
